Pillars of sustainability The four pillars of sustainability provide a framework for achieving long-term balance between development and preservation.

Here’s a brief explanation of each:

1. Environmental Sustainability: Focuses on protecting natural resources, ecosystems, and biodiversity to ensure that the environment can support future generations. This includes practices like reducing pollution, conserving energy, promoting renewable resources, and mitigating climate change.

2. Human Sustainability: Improvement of the quality of life and well-being for individuals. This involves access to education, healthcare, and opportunities for personal growth and development to build human capacity over time.

3. Economic Sustainability: Create stable and prosperous economies that can endure over time without depleting resources or creating significant inequalities. Practices like responsible business operations, ethical labour practices, and long-term investment in sustainable industries.
